Galen AI Strava Support
Galen integrates with Strava to help you privately understand your own activity trends in the context of your broader health data. Galen is designed to complement Strava and does not replicate Strava’s social, competitive, or community features.
What data Galen accesses
When you connect Strava, Galen accesses only the data you authorize through Strava’s consent screen (for example, your activities and basic athlete profile information). Galen only uses Strava data to provide you with private, user-specific insights inside your Galen account.
Galen only displays Strava data back to you (the account owner). We do not show your Strava data to other Galen users.
How we use Strava data
We use Strava data to:
- Show you your own activity history inside Galen
- Help you understand personal trends (for example, training load patterns over time)
- Provide context alongside other health information you connect (if you choose)
We do not use Strava data to:
- Replicate Strava features (feeds, leaderboards, segments, route discovery, clubs)
- Share, sell, rent, or disclose Strava data to third parties
- Use Strava data for advertising or targeted marketing
- Use Strava data for analytics or insights across users
- Use Strava data to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models
Connect or disconnect Strava
Connect Strava
- Open the Galen app (or web app)
- Go to Connected Data → Connect Data → Wearable or Medical Device → Strava
- Tap Connect Strava and follow the Strava authorization flow
Disconnect Strava
- Go to Connected Data → Strava
- Tap Disconnect
When you disconnect Strava, Galen stops accessing your Strava account.
Data retention, deletion, and Strava activity removals
- Galen retains Strava data only as needed to provide the Strava integration features to you.
- If you disconnect Strava or request deletion, we delete Strava data associated with your Galen account.
- If you delete an activity in Strava, Galen will stop displaying it after the change is reflected during our refresh cycle, and in all cases within 48 hours.
Request deletion: Email us at developers@galenai.com with the subject line “Strava Data Deletion Request” from the email associated with your Galen account.
Privacy and security
We use commercially reasonable security measures to protect data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and encryption at rest where stored. Access to Strava data is limited to authorized systems and personnel required to operate the integration.
